Piman Sly is a rock duo with hints of metal, stoner, grunge, hard rock and blues based in Bangkok, Thailand with members from Thailand and Indonesia. Their music is rather dark - discussing about mental illness and social issues, whether they be depression from a troubled past, frustration of the status quo or anger towards ignorant human beings. The word ‘Piman’ came from mixing the members’ names - Py and Iman - together. The Thai idiom ‘Pi-man Sa-laai’ means ‘shattered heaven’ or ‘Paradise Lost’ that is usually used to describe a broken home, a dysfunctional family, an unrealized dream - which aligns with what their music is about. Their music takes influences from artists like Jimi Hendrix, Black Sabbath, Nirvana, Guns N’ Roses, Red Fang, The Heavy Eyes, etc.
